Artificial intelligence continues to attract major investment across healthcare, with AI healthcare platform Forus reaching a valuation of $3 billion following its latest funding round.

The New York-based company has raised $150 million in Series C funding, tripling its valuation in approximately four months. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, an investor in the company since its seed stage, with participation from existing investors including Thrive Capital, General Catalyst and Accel. The latest investment brings Forus’ total funding to more than $300 million.

Formerly known as Tandem, Forus is focused on one of healthcare’s most complex administrative challenges: helping patients navigate the journey between receiving a prescription and actually starting treatment.

Its platform uses AI agents to support doctors and patients through processes including insurance approvals, financial assistance and medication supply. These steps can create significant administrative work for healthcare professionals while potentially delaying patients’ access to prescribed therapies.

The scale of the company’s growth demonstrates the increasing interest in using AI not only for diagnosis, drug discovery and clinical decision-making, but also for addressing the operational processes surrounding patient care.

Forus says its technology is already used by healthcare providers across all 50 U.S. states and reaches patients in 85% of residential ZIP codes. The company also works with nine of the world’s 15 largest biopharmaceutical companies. It plans to use the latest funding to expand into additional medical specialties and care settings, enhance the capabilities of its technology and grow its workforce.

The investment comes as healthcare organisations increasingly explore how AI-powered tools can reduce administrative burdens and create more efficient workflows. For physicians, these technologies have the potential to reduce time spent navigating non-clinical processes and enable greater focus on patient care.

However, as AI becomes more deeply integrated into healthcare, questions around accuracy, transparency, privacy and appropriate human oversight will remain central to its adoption.

Forus’ rapid rise in valuation highlights the significant confidence investors are placing in healthcare AI. More importantly, it reflects a broader shift toward AI solutions designed to tackle the practical challenges physicians and patients encounter throughout the care journey.

As investment continues to accelerate, the next phase will be defined not simply by what healthcare AI can automate, but by whether it can meaningfully improve access, efficiency and the experience of care.
